The CR-Z makes a great Addition to the Honda Hybrid Line
Honda has created a brand new vehicle to add to the groundbreaking line of hybrid cars they have created. In order to makeup for taking the ever so popular 1980's Honda CRX, Honda has now introduced the CR-Z. This hybrid looks to have everything that a Honda lover needs and more!
We caught our first glimpse of the Honda CR0Z, when it made an appearance at the auto shows in Tokyo in 2007 and then at the Detroit Auto show in 2008. It has been announced that we will be seeing this car out on roads come this summer, which gives you about 4 months to get in line. Besides being a replacement for another beloved Honda, the CR-Z is a car made for two that is jam packed with features and fun.
One aspect that is always on buyers minds when they shop for a new car is the gas mileage. When the gas per gallon is about $3, you tend to rethink purchasing that huge truck this year. The CR-Z will actually get over 36mpg when driving around in the city and 38 mpg when you are driving the highway. You can say goodbye to $50 tanks of gas and start saving more of that money.
With technology that Honda uses in nearly all of the Hybrid vehicles on the market, expect to see the variable valve timing on the CR-Z that is considered to be intelligent and helps to start up the electric engine faster. When the car is using the gasoline engine while driving that engine will automatically switch off to the elective in order to save your gas as well as the energy you are using in the car.
The electric motor in the Honda CR-Z is powered with a nickel-metal-hydrate battery pack of 100 volts. While driving the gasoline engine will actually work to recharge the electric engine so that you never have to worry about being stranded on the side of the road. The standard transmission for these vehicles is the six-speed, those who do want an automatic transmission might have a hard time.
Over, the Honda CR-Z does look to have some excellent qualities; however it is one of the lower end hybrids that are on the upcoming market. With the new release coming up soon, it is interesting to see just how this new hybrid will compare to all the others. Wait this summer and see what the fuss is all about.
